Paula E. Coley’s Biography

Paula E. Coley, RHIA, AP, Dipl. Ac.

I attended Dragon Rises College of Oriental Medicine in Gainesville, Florida, where I earned a Masters Degree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. I am licensed by the State of Florida as an Acupuncture Physician (AP #2224) and Nationally Board Certified as a Diplomate in Acupuncture by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM).  I am especially interested in the body-mind connection that impacts health and well-being and bring to my practice experiences as both a patient of and practitioner of Acupuncture.

I made the decision to study Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine after undergoing treatment in both Western and Eastern medical practices for an injury that resulted in ongoing severe chronic back pain.  The results with Eastern medical practices were life changing.

I am also credentialed as a Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) by the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) after earning a Bachelor of Science degrees in Health Science Administration and Health Information Management from Florida International University and  University of Central Florida.  My initial education provided long term experience working closely with medical clinicians and researchers in the many aspects of delivery of and practice of western medicine. This provides a bridge for working with Western Medical practitioners, when needed.
